Everything But SF
October 08, 2008
I got to SF right before the Fourth of July weekend. Literally, right after I land I go with the Dunngin crew to Lake Tahoe for a weekend of fun.

Duffy refers to his van as the MRU. I think this is actually the second MRU he has owned. (if you are curious, MRU does not stand for mobile RESPONSE unit.) This is the crew right before we leave. Got the couch and various other non-camping furniture piled up in the van.

Tracy starts taking nasty pictures of Stu with whiskey. I feel like it should be legal to drink in a van if there a cage between the driver and passengers.

It might not be legal to drive with the side door open, but it was so hot driving out there.

Mullet. Full force. Good shot of the couch in the MRU.

We get to Tahoe kind of late, but some friends already had a camp site reserved for us.

We make ourselves right at home and proceed to get drunk. I put the camera away for safe keeping.

In the morning, I take a little hike down to the lake. Its beautiful, but freezing cold.

Every "before" shot deserves an after.

Shortly after geting back from Lake Tahoe, I join the Beggers Will Ride crew to shoot a music video for a Houston band called Indian Jewelry. (coincidence) We go to Thunder Mountain in Nevada for the shoot. I'm taking production stills and shooting some time lapse for the video. I won't ruin it by showing you too many photos here from the shoot. When its done, I'll post a link to an online version of it. This is us going up in a Cessna for some aerial shots. I think this is my camera at the highest shutter speed so I can get a picture of the propeller.

I really like the passenger instrument panel.

Here is Ivan, the director, and Duffy, the cinematographer, right after we land. It was kind of a frightening experience because we took both of the back doors off the plane so we could get a wide shot, but it made for a ton of drag (literally) and the weight was not even distributed. Apparently it was also a rough ride because we were shooting in the afternoon and the heat causes crazy turbulence.

These were some scouting shots from a near by ghost town in a mountain. I feel like my whole summer revolved around ghost towns. I think I liked this one the best because no one was living here at all.

Here are some shots from the location. Just do a little research on Thunder Mountain. You'll be happily surprised. Or maybe bitterly disappointed.

Erica from Indian Jewelry.

Duffy and Stu just after our last shot is complete.

I got to see the Moped Army do their thing by Candlestick park. It was a beautiful day and looked like most were having fun on their 2-stroke motors. Wes Duvall from Athletics was in town.
I figure its only fair that I show you my new apartment, my cat, and my new bike. I talk briefly to my neighbor. Funny huh?
